THE NEW COVENANT

February 13

Jesus is establishing the New Covenant whereby people no longer go to a priest to ask for forgiveness of sins, but to the Great High Priest Jesus who died for all of our sins and in our place so that we might go to heaven.  This cup of water mixed with wine symbolized Jesus’ shedding His blood on the cross for our sins. His dying on the cross was sufficient to forgive us and save us because as He was dying it says in Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. God was pouring His wrath out on Jesus for our sins.  Jesus died for OUR SINS. Right before Jesus died He said it is finished.  That means our sin debt has been paid in full and when we come to Jesus and ask Him to forgive us of our sins and save us we can become a Child of God. Have you done that?  If so thank Him today for who He is and what He has done for you.  If not, trust Him TODAY.

Matthew 26:27-28 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.
