WHO IS THE GREATEST?

December 7

Jesus has just told His Disciples He is going to the cross, be rejected, suffer great things, be killed and raised the third day. Yet, what do we see the disciples doing, they are fighting over who is the greatest. But isn’t that what most of us do?  There are many people standing in line to do the “great and mighty things” of this world, while countless “little things” for His Kingdom go undone.  What you do for “the least of these” may seem a little thing, but it will likely go undone unless you do it.  What an opportunity God has given us to make a difference for eternity.  Wow, how true that is.  Are you waiting in line, or are you willing to be like Jesus who humbled Himself and made Himself of no reputation, taking on the form of a servant?  Are you willing to do anything God asks you to do?

Luke 9:46-48 Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. 47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, 48 and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.”
