LISTENING AND DOING

December 26

The Lord called all the people then alive in Judah, to pay attention to, and to take to heart, His message to them. He had not been as ungiving as a wilderness or as unenlightening as darkness to them. They had no reason to feel free to abandon Him. Let us remember too the message and promises of God and take heart in knowing He does right in all circumstances. Let us remember how much we need Him every second of every day.

“O my people, listen to the words of the LORD! Have I been like a desert to Israel? Have I been to them a land of darkness? Why then do my people say, ‘At last we are free from God! We don’t need him anymore!’ (Jeremiah 2:31)
