LISTENING AND SHARING

December 28

God told Ezekiel to make sure he took seriously all that God spoke to him and make sure he heard it all because all God was saying to Ezekiel was very important.  Then God told him to go and tell the Jewish exiles this message whether they listened or not.  Our job as Christians is to take the Good News that Jesus died for sins, was buried and rose again the third day to those around us whether they listen or not (The Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).  We are not to use the worldly methods of our culture to try to win them to Christ, we are not to use unbiblical methods, but just to proclaim the Good News. It is God’s job to work in the hearts of people and their need is to respond.  Our job is not to get the results, but only to share.  Are we being faithful to do what God has called each of us to do in the culture around us.  They might not like us, they might not listen, but we are still supposed to share this Good News.

“Not that it may be indifferent to us what success our ministry has, but, whatever it be, we must go on with our work and leave the issue to God.” 2Henry, p. 1037.

Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, take into your heart all My words which I will speak to you and listen closely. 11 “And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD,’ whether they hear, or whether they refuse.” (Ezekiel 3:10-11)
