DOES GOD APPROVE OF THE WAY WE LIVE?

December 28

If a wicked person repented of his wickedness and pursued righteous behavior, he would live and not die. God would pardon his sins because he had turned from them and practiced righteousness. This means that doing good works could prevent God’s judgment of premature physical death, a judgment promised under the Mosaic Law for those who practiced wickedness. This does not deal with the subject of eternal life. Eternal life has always come to a person by faith alone. In the new Testament God speaks to this matter in 1 Corinthians 11:27-34 and 1 John 5:16-17 where a believer in unrepentant sin can be made weak, sick or even die if they don’t repent and get right with God. We are a bad testimony of God’s goodness to the world when we live apart from His will and ways. Let us live in such a way that God does not have to deal with us in this way.

Ezekiel 18:21 “But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
