Paul in Acts 22:12-20 has been giving his testimony of how he had all these worldly credentials and thought He was going to heaven because of who he was and what he had done. But on the road to Damascus God confronted Paul with the fact that he had been persecuting Jesus, not glorifying God as he thought. He goes on to talk about how Ananias comes to him and presents the task that God had given Paul to go to all people with the Gospel. He tells about how he was praying and God spoke to him about going specifically to the Gentiles with this Good News because the Jews would not receive him. Paul was tasked as we all are with going and sharing the Gospel with others. I don’t know the audience God has given you, but He has tasked each of us with an area of responsibility due to our background, where we live and work, and all the factors that make up who we are. He has uniquely created each of us with an ability to reach a certain group of people with the Good News of salvation. Do you know where and with who you should be sharing this Good News? Mathew 28:19-20 speaks to this issue. It could be translated as you go about your going, in other words wherever you are share Christ. You and I have been uniquely gifted to reach certain people, but it is still our responsibility to share with all we can. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Acts 22:12-20 “Then a certain Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good testimony with all the Jews who dwelt there, 13 “came to me; and he stood and said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight.’ And at that same hour I looked up at him. 14 “Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth. 15 ‘For you will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard. 16 ‘And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’ 17 “Now it happened, when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, that I was in a trance 18 “and saw Him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, for they will not receive your testimony concerning Me.’ 19 “So I said, ‘Lord, they know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believe on You. 20 ‘And when the blood of Your martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by consenting to his death, and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.’ 21 “Then He said to me, ‘Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.'”
