SALVATION THAT WORKS

October 7

Paul says in Ephesians 2:8-10  that you are saved by trusting in Christ, there is not anything you can do to save yourself or contribute to that salvation, but believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.  He goes on to add that we have been saved in order that we may be able to do good works.  Moses spent 80 years of His life to prepare him for 40 years of desert wanderings serving God.  At first Moses was somebody important in Pharaoh’s house, then someone unimportant in the desert, and through it all He learned God could use anybody.  Joseph spent 13 years being hated and imprisoned to prepare him for the throne of Egypt second to Pharaoh. David many years in exile, hiding for his life from Saul to prepare him for the throne of Israel. Paul spent 3 years in the desert of Arabia to prepare him for Ministry, plus many later in prison and being persecuted so that God could use him to share the Gospel.  What is God using in our lives to make us a vessel useful for His service (2 Timothy 2:21)?

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
