STANDING FIRM

December 7

Timothy was feeling the temptation to modify his message and to quit preaching it. So Paul exhorts him to continue in what you have been doing with the trust in God and love for the people which Jesus Christ supplies. God has been faithful to Timothy and he must continue to be faithful to God. It is always a temptation to soften the message or be popular instead of speaking the truth in love. This is especially true of those who preach the word, we must pray for them that they will continue to be faithful to the message and that we will too. Falling away from the truth starts subtly with little changes and ends up in a place that causes churches to completely change the message. Let’s pray that we will always be faithful to share God’s word as it was meant to be spoken or taught.

2 Timothy 1:13 Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
