BUT WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE HIM

December 12

Hebrews 11:1 describes what faith is. It is the confidence that God will do what He said He would do. The writer then tells us in the next 5 verses that this is what was believed in the past, and we need to know that God created it all, whether it is the visible things or invisible things that make up creation.  Abel trusted in what God said and therefore because he made the required blood sacrifice, His sacrifice was accepted and this showed that he was a saved man. Enoch’s faith pleased God so much that God took him to heaven without having to die. We must believe in Him to be saved and it is only by faith that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). Lastly, we need to believe and realize that He will reward us if we are His children who persistently seek Him.  Do you know Him? If not trust in Him by faith today.

Hebrews 11:1-6 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. 4 By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. 5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
