THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST

December 14

In Revelation 1:1-3 John tells us that this is the revealing of things to come and it is given by Jesus Christ who is the main subject of all that is to follow in this book. All of Revelation is about Jesus and His glory and He wants us to know what is going to happen and how it will all happen. You have to remember that John was locked up in Patmos at the time and was writing this book from God in such a way that the Romans would not understand what He was saying, but the disciples of Jesus Christ would. That is why so much symbolism is used. All the events predicted by Daniel and foreseen by Christ would be fulfilled in a time that is not known to us, but we are given many signs of it’s coming in other places in the Bible. Jesus wants us to read and understand this book and a blessing comes to those who do read it, understand it, and keep His word. Are you ready for Christ to come again? He is coming. Trust Christ if you haven’t and if you have clean up your life.

Why is there so much symbolism in this book? One Pastor offered three reasons: Symbolism is not weakened by time. Symbols impart values and arouse emotions. And symbols can be used as a secret code.

Revelation 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants–things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
