HE WHO HAS AN EAR, LET HIM HEAR

December 15

This refrain “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” is repeated 4 times in this chapter to 4 different churches. These are written to the overcomer’s. Read 1 John 5:4-5 and you will find out an overcomer is one who has trusted in Christ. He speaks to the first church and says those that overcome will get the tree of life, the second will receive the crown of life, the third the hidden manna and a new name. The last gets the morning star. These 4 things are all aspects of the wonderful life we will have in heaven. We will have eternal life, enjoy all that life in heaven has for the redeemed we will eat the wonderful spiritual food that God has for us, and receive the name He has prepared for us that only He and we know. The morning star speaks of the intimate relationship we will have with Jesus Christ and His guidance forever for our lives. We will always have pressure from those around us to move away from the truth of Christ and compromise, let us hang onto Christ and know that if we are truly Christians we will ultimately overcome the things of this world. AND THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD–OUR FAITH.

Revelation 2:29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”‘
