APPLYING WISDOM

December 8

Proverbs 22:17-19 This section all the way to chapter 24:34 is to stress the importance of applying the wisdom previously given in other sections. The writer calls us to dig into this great amount of wisdom He has given us, that will lead to a deeper trust in the Lord. We are to devote ourselves to study that we might be firmly rooted and grounded in the word which will enable us to be able to give wise counsel to others. Are we being diligent to study HIS WORD which is the instruction book for life? If not, we can’t blame God or others when our life and plans fail when we base them on the world’s wisdom and not His guidance. Where do you get your spiritual wisdom and understanding from?

I want to challenge you again to read a chapter or a short book of the Bible for a week to 30 days straight and see what happens when you do. Maybe try it for 90 days. You might miss a day or two here or there, but keep at it and see how much you learn.

Proverbs 22:17-19 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, And apply your heart to my knowledge; 18 For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; Let them all be fixed upon your lips, 19 So that your trust may be in the LORD; I have instructed you today, even you.
