BEING FAITHFUL

October 31

Paul exhorts Timothy to watch his personal life closely and his teaching carefully. Timothy is not only to watch over others as a pastor, but to make sure his life continues to be faithful in all areas. Pastors and all of us fail at times in this. We are better at looking at others lives and not making sure we are doing this well. That is why the writer said in Hebrews 2:1 to be careful lest you drift. Have you ever been cruising down the road and you look up and you are almost in the ditch or in it? This can happen to all of us as Christians if we are not careful. Let us heed this warning for us and for those around us that we have an influence over so that we may be all that God wants us to be and do all He wants us to accomplish.

1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
