FUTURE EVENTS

January 16

From here to the end of the book of Revelation John records the future events God wants His people to know. These heavenly visions in Chapters 4-5 are there to assure us of God’s purposes for all will come to pass and so is completely dominated by praise. After the revelation to the 7 churches these things happen and he sees a throne room in heaven. Some have described this as a heavenly court room where the worthiness of “the Lamb” to receive the inheritance is confirmed through the symbol of the seven-sealed scroll. Most likely this open door is a picture of the Rapture of the Church, but most certainly is an invitation for John to enter into heaven in his vision. In this vision from heaven he will receive all that is written in the rest of the book. Have you read the book of Revelation? It is a great book that unfolds how God will judge the evil and reward the saved. Read it and be blessed.

“No part of the Scripture is more calculated to evoke worship than these two chapters of John’s prophecy.” 3Beasley-Murray, p. 109.

Revelation 4:1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
