HEARING AND APPLYING

October 16

The writer is telling us that we need to heed the things said in the previous verses, not only to hear, but to apply them to our lives in all that we do. Chapter 4 speaks of getting wisdom and in all your getting get wisdom for it is the principle thing. It is not enough to read the Bible a chapter a day to keep the devil away, but we need to read, meditate, and then apply it our lives if we want to have a life that is described as successful in the Bible. This is one that is pleasing to God and leads to the ways and places God wants for us. That is true success, not what the world thinks. Are we applying the word to all that we do? Let’s start today if not.

Proverbs 23:12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
