THE WORD OF GOD

December 26

1 Peter 1:24 is a quotation from Isaiah 40:6-8 that expresses the passing of everything away except the Word of God. All eventually goes away and disappears but not His living and abiding word. It not only will not pass away but neither do those to whom it gives new life through salvation. They might pass out of this world, but live forever in God’s presence. Do you know this for sure in your own life? Someone once said do you know that you know that you know if you died today that you would go to heaven. If not, I would love to talk to you about that today. 1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

“My friend, we need the preaching and the teaching of the Word of God above everything else. I do not mean to minimize the place of music, the place of methods, and the place of organization, but there is absolutely no substitute for the Word of God today.” J. Vernon McGee

1 Peter 1:24-25 because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, 25 But the word of the LORD endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
