WHAT OPPORTUNITIES DO YOU HAVE?

December 26

Here we see God sovereignly working again all thing for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.  Paul has been arrested, sent to Rome because he appealed to Caesar to avoid the Jews killing him in Jerusalem.  Now in Rome he has taken the Gospel from Jerusalem to Rome where he can really share it with the Gentiles.  He is still under arrest, but house arrest and is allowed to share the Gospel unhindered for the next two years under the protection of the Roman government since it has been established that he has not done anything worthy of punishment.  Think about this, Paul writes the first 5 prison epistles from there (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon). He is sharing the Gospel and it says in Philippians 1:12 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel.  God worked it out so that Paul could get to the elite of the elite. Philippians 4:22 All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household. He could never have accomplished that as a typical missionary.  It is said that the impact of Paul on the Roman guards he was chained to went throughout the whole Roman empire.  Next time you think things are bad look around and see what God is doing.  You might be amazed at the doors of opportunity He has opened for the Gospel.

Acts 28:30-31 Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, 31 preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him.
