WHAT YOU ARE TRUSTING TO GET TO HEAVEN?

August 28

Here Paul is declaring without any stuttering or stammering that God did not send him to baptize, but to preach the Gospel that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). In other words, Paul was saying baptism is not what is important, but trusting in Christ is.  Many have thought and still think because they were baptized as an infant or sometime in their life they are going to heaven, that is not what Paul said.  He said trusting in the Gospel is what gets you to heaven, not being baptized or even who did it.  You cannot add anything or take anything away from what Christ did to save you. It is Christ alone that saves.  Is that what you are trusting in?

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
