ARE WE LISTENING AND OBEYING?

July 2

Jeremiah received another message from the Lord. He was to go to the gate of the temple in Jerusalem and deliver a prophecy in God’s name to the people of Judah who entered to worship. This message applies to us also as in the next verse Jeremiah was to tell them to clean up their lives and so should we each and every day. If we are truly God’s people who will live forever with Him, then our lives will show that we belong to him because of our continual confession and repenting of our sins.

Stand in the gate of the LORD’S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD. Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: “Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. (Jeremiah 7:2-3)
