ARE YOU A PART OF THE FAMILY OF GOD?

April 1

In Luke 5:12-13 we see Jesus doing a miracle that was supposed to show the religious leaders that He really was God.  The man knows Jesus can heal him and so he begs Jesus to heal him of his leprosy.  Leprosy in the bible is a picture of sin in that it is not just a problem on the surface, but a deep defiling disease and so cannot be fixed by any external measures.  It is also a disease that like sin if unchecked spreads everywhere and so the person had to be isolated from others as those who do not trust Christ will one day be isolated in hell. Jesus reaches out and does the unthinkable, He touches the man and so expresses compassion, love, reassurance, and also lets him know as he is healed that he is no longer alone and separated.  He has now become a part of those around him.  When Jesus touches the leprosy of our sin and separation He welcomes us into the family of God and says you are no longer alone, but now you not only have a family, but a Savior who loves you and will never leave you nor forsake you. Have you come to Jesus and asked Him to make you clean?  If you have not then ask Him today to forgive you and save you from your sin.  As for me I am so glad I am a part of the family of God.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlT6KoT73O0

Luke 5:12-13 And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 13 Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.

The Lord called all the people then alive in Judah, to pay attention to, and to take to heart, His message to them. He had not been as ungiving as a wilderness or as unenlightening as darkness to them. They had no reason to feel free to abandon Him. Let us remember...
