BE ENCOURAGED

October 19

Paul wanted the Colossians to be encouraged in their heart (the mind, will, and emotions) and to persevere in the truth. He did not want them to be swayed by the false teachings that he spells out in the next verses and then contrasts it with the truth of Christ. He wanted them to be established in the truth. This will lead to their being encouraged and coming together in a love grounded in truth. This also allows them to get the riches of all that God has in the mysteries which were now able to be understood as Christ has shown it to us. He is the one who has all true wisdom and knowledge. Do you know the one in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge? Trust Him today and find all that God has for you in Christ. The world only promises, but can never deliver on what can only be found in Christ, Peace, Joy, and Abundant Life.

Colossians 2:2-3 That their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
