FOR THUS SAITH THE LORD

January 28

In Isaiah 45:18-19 the Lord wants to settle in our mind that He created all and that He is the one and only God.  He wants Israel and us to know that He is trustworthy and all that He did was for our benefit.  He wants us to enjoy His creation.  He did not and does not hide Himself from us but wants all of us to know Him and enjoy Him and all that He has created for us. He is contrasting Himself with the heathen fortunetellers who were all about mystery and hiding things, but God never hides His purposes and plans from us, but wants us to know what, when, and how to do the things He wants to accomplish in our lives and those around us.  This is a great comfort to know God, to know how much He loves us and how much He wants us to trust in Him and know the joy, peace, and abundant life in spite of all that is going on around us.  Do you know Him and are you enjoying all these benefits He wants us to have?

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right (Isaiah 45:18-19)
