GOD IS HOLY AND SAYS BE HOLY AS I AM HOLY

February 1

God used Moses to speak to them all the information (The Word of God) they needed to live in such a way as to please Him.  The people affirmed all that God said was good and said they would obey the commands.  They made two mistakes as we often do too. First they underestimated their ability to keep the covenant and secondly they underestimated God’s standards for them.  God is holy and says be holy as I am holy, but on our own we cannot do this, that is why we need to trust in Christ for salvation so we will be able to live for Him.  Even then many times we try to rely on our own strength and not the strength of the Holy Spirit that comes from God. One man said when I try I fail, but when I trust I succeed.  Whose strength are you depending on to live like Christ? Do you know Him as Savior?

So Moses came and called the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the LORD had commanded him. 8 Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the LORD. (Exodus 19:7-8)
