GUARDING OUR MIND

September 25

If you will read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 you will see that we are all in a battle every day for the mind. Each and every day the enemy seeks to invade our mind with things that are the opposite of what the Word of God teaches. TV, Billboards, Social Media, you name it, the world is trying to teach us what we ought to believe. Paul is reminding us that the battle is for our mind and anything no matter how little we allow to influence our mind can ultimately move us in the wrong direction from God. That is why he says bring EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST. One man said it this way, don’t let the world teach you theology. 1 Peter 3:15 says But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; Do we know what we believe and why we believe it? We had better or the devil and his lies will invade our life and take over.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
