JUDGING RIGHTLY

August 10

Paul was speaking specifically to the Jews here who were judging everyone else, yet doing the same things and worse than they were condemning others for.  The timeless principle in this scripture is that this can be applied to unbelievers in general since they seem to quote judge not lest you be judged as their favorite verse, but are always judging all others for what they do or don’t do.  One day all will be judged for their sins and nothing will escape God’s all seeing eye. Repent unbelievers and trust Christ. It can also apply somewhat to us as believers who can tend to get judgmental thinking we are better than others because we are saved. But we need to remember but for the grace of God there go I.  Paul said to look out you might fall too in Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Let us love all and be compassionate to all.  We don’t have to like the way they live, but we need to remember without Christ that is the only way they know how to live.  Let us love them into Christ.  Amen!

Romans 2:1-3 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2 But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. 3 And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?
