OUR HOPE, OUR TESTIMONY

August 1

In Acts 24:14 Paul speaks in his defense to refute his accusers so that the Romans will know he is not leading a cult, but his beliefs are in line with the Law and the Prophets, that is the old testament teachings. He wanted them to know his charges were all political, not religious in nature and that he was worshipping the true God according to the hope that was spoken of in the Old Testament of a Savior (A Messiah) that was coming. Do people think we are a political group, a protest group, trouble makers who just want what they think is right, or do it for some other reason? Is this how people see us or do they know what we do is for the hope that is set before us in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 6:18)?

Acts 24:14 But this I admit to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect I do serve the God of our fathers, believing everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the Prophets;
