READING GOD’S WORD

July 6

When the priests discovered God’s Word in the temple during King Josiah’s reign Jeremiah had read it with great passion. For Jeremiah it had become his delight and a joy to his soul in contrast to the majority of people who despised it. The Lord’s words included His messages to the prophet and His written Word. Do we have the same delight as Jeremiah did or are we like the majority who either read it with little or no interest or despise it? Let the Word of God dwell richly in you today and reap the rewards of knowing the Lord in a greater way. God’s people should find joy and delight in His Word as it is HIS LOVE LETTER TO US, to show us how to live.

Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. (Jeremiah 15:16)
