SINGING TWO SONGS

January 24

Revelation 15:3-4 They are singing two songs, one of Moses who celebrated a deliverance by the Lord which was a picture of the greater deliverance to come through Christ’s redemption on the cross. In the second one His ways and works are praised, specifically judging those who do not trust Christ is in view here. His holiness and sovereignty make His judgements necessary. Everyone will fear God one day, the wicked seem not to now, but one day when they see Him in His glory and the time of their judgement they will (Phil 2:9-11). That will be a very sad and frightening day. On this day that we celebrate Christ’s birth let us remember that we need to pray for and share Christ with those who don’t know Him. That is why we celebrate this day so we can remember who God is and what He has done as they are doing in these verses.

Revelation 15:3-4 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! 4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”
