THE CRUX OF THE MATTER

May 27

In this great section of Scripture where we see Jesus get to the crux of the matter, without Him life is nothing, without Him, life is meaningless and useless.  Jesus wants to satisfy our soul forever. Coming and drinking mean to believe on Jesus. Verses 37–38: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me . . .” That last phrase is another way of saying come and drink. Coming and drinking Jesus is what happens when we believe. It’s what believe means. Just as you take in food and water for physical life when you believe you are taking Jesus into your life for your spiritual nourishment. Have you come to Jesus for His cleansing power, are you been washed in the blood of the Lamb? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_46WyJE6itM

John 7:37-39 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
