THE KINGDOM OF GOD

December 27

Here in this section we see the kingdom of God described as something that is invaluable and it is worth anything that we might have to pay for it.  The person who really is a child of God knows that and has and will give up anything or everything to go to heaven.  The good news is that it is a free gift (Romans 6:23) and to enter the kingdom all one has to do is to turn from our sins (repent), believe the good news (the Gospel 1 Co 15:3-4) that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and raised to life again on the third day.  To believe means we trust with all we have in us that all of this is true and it is enough to save us and get forgiveness of our sins (Romans 10:9-10). We may be called on to give up all or sacrifice all for Jesus after we have been saved and that is something that any true child of God is willing to do if needed.  What have you given up or sacrificed to follow Jesus?

Matthew 13:44-46 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 “who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
