THE RIGHT KIND OF LOVE

September 11

Today we will read the love chapter as it has been called in 1 Corinthians 13. We see here that love is an action, it is not based on emotion.  This is agape love that is only possible if we are Christians.  It is one that is a sacrificial and loves no matter what.  It is the love Christ displayed on the cross even for those who were crucifying Him when He prayed Father forgive them for they know not what they do in Luke 23:34. Are we demonstrating this kind of love to our brothers and sisters in Christ and especially to a world that needs to know this kind of love because they are looking for love in all the wrong places and don’t really understand what love is.  The world’s love is one based on what have you done for me lately and I don’t love you anymore because you aren’t what I want you to be or haven’t done what I want you to do for me. My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth (1 John 3:18) all those around us today.  Amen!

Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; (1 Corinthians 13:6)
