THE WORD OF GOD

August 17

This verse shows that God can speak to anyone with His word. Sometimes we think a person cannot be saved because of the way they live their lives, or someone is incapable of understanding the word, but God’s word can go wherever He wants it to. We need to pray before we speak to anyone that God’s word would accomplish its purpose in their life and then trust Him and His word to do just that. Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

“There are none so knowing that God cannot blind; none so blind and ignorant whose mind and heart He cannot open.” 1148 William Gurnall, quoted in Spurgeon, 2:204.

Psalms 119:130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
