WISDOM

September 28

The book of Proverbs has two purposes in that it teaches us the way to be moral and also to be mentally discerning which is spoken of in Chapter 1 verse 6 and 7. The way we do all of this is to get wisdom which comes from God. Wisdom is not just knowledge, but it is the ability to apply that knowledge to everything that happens to us in our life in such a way that we understand what is happening in a situation, and know what to do and how to do it at the right time. God’s word is sufficient for all things pertaining to life and Godliness. (2 Peter 1:3-4) If you will read God’s Word daily especially the Proverbs, (one for each day of the month) and ask God to show you how to live and walk based on His word, He will do that for you. Otherwise you go the way of the world and that is definitely not good.

Proverbs 1:2-7 To know wisdom and instruction, to discern the sayings of understanding, to receive instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice and equity; To give prudence to the naive, To the youth knowledge and discretion, A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel, 6 To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles. 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
