WORDS WRITTEN DOWN FOR US TO LIVE BY

January 5

The phrase “For assuredly, I say to you”, “truly I say to you”, “I tell you the truth” or “Amen, Amen” depending on your translation means what Jesus is about to say is very important. Jesus says that even the smallest letter or piece of the Old Testament writings will not go away until He has fulfilled all that He plans to do in the future.  Jesus was clearly saying that all Scripture is inspired of God (God Breathed) and are His very words written down for us to live by. When He says inspired He means down to the very letters used, not just the words.  Jesus quoted the Old Testament frequently and so confirmed the truth written there.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. When God says something, you can be sure He meant it and He says every word of Scripture is there for our benefit.  Read it every day to be given wisdom and understanding.

Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
