THE UNITY OF THE FAITH

October 9

God gives us gifted leaders so that the body of Christ can be equipped to do the work He has called us to. The purpose of all this is to bring unity, spiritual maturity, and Christ likeness.  Each of us has a part to play in the body of Christ (the church). We are to grow ourselves and others by studying and applying the word of God, loving others and confronting them lovingly if needed, and help others that God puts in our path to become the Christians they ought to be also.  WOW, what would happen in our churches if we did what the scripture told us to do.  First the leaders would preach and teach the Bible like they ought to, then we would listen and grow and bring others along with us in our Christian maturity.  Let’s commit to do this each and every day.  Amen!

Ephesians 4:11-16 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head–Christ– 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
